Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop: Color Challenge

Welcome again to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, that runs the first Friday of every month! You'll see projects from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world in this blog hop. My name is Kimberley Morris, and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA).

This month we have a color challenge to work with, you can see the swatches in the graphic below. Our colors for this challenge are So Saffron, Rose Red, and Wild Wasabi. These colors really scream out "Easter" to me, but I'm going to see if I can make a Valentine's card with them!

I've decided to feature the Basket Bunch photopolymer stamp set, along with the Basket Builder Framelits Dies. You can get these items together as the Basket Bunch BUNDLE, and SAVE 10%. This is a double challenge for me, to use what look like Easter colors to me, WITH an Easter themed stamp set, to make a Valentine's card :-D I'm also using the Suite Sentiments stamp set, available in wood-mount or clear-mount, which also has some Easter greetings in it, but I'm using the 'love is in the air mail' sentiment for this card! Yes, I fussy fu@*y cut those little hearts out from the stamped sentiment.

This is a super easy card, the only color (aside from white) that I added that was not in the color lineup was the Basic Gray Archival ink pad for the outline of the little birdies. And technically, the Watercolor Pencils have only one yellow--Daffodil Delight--but that's close enough to So Saffron that I'm saying it doesn't count ;-) By the way, the Watercolor Pencils went into backorder for a short time, and a shipment came in so they are orderable again RIGHT NOW, and expected to go on backorder again quickly...so RUN over to my Online Store and get them while you can!!! Don't forget to grab at least one pack of Blender Pens with them.

Stampin' Supplies: Basket Bunch BUNDLE (Basket Bunch stamp set + Basket Builder Framelits), Suite Sentiments stamp set, So Saffron card stock/ink pad (or you could use VersaMark), Rose Red card stock/ink pad/marker, Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad, Wild Wasabi card stock, Whisper White card stock, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Fast Fuse, Stampin' Trimmer.

Pick a Pretty Pocket Card Project - February Step It Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the February 2017 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My trigeminal neuralgia pain has kept me away from stamping for quite a while, so I'm going to keep things simple for this blog post.

The card above is from the Sale-a-Bration FREE product, called the Pretty Pocket Card Kit. The top picture is the card all assembled, the picture under that shows the little note card pulled out. The kit is pretty much peel and stick to put the pocket card together, there is no stamping required! You CANNOT purchase this kit, but you CAN choose this item for FREE with a $50 purchase.

Stampin' Supplies: Pretty Pocket Card Kit (Sale-a-Bration FREE Item), Paper Snips (to cut the twine to 18"). Seriously, that's ALL you need to put the cards together--and you get an envelope for each card (there are 8 in the kit).

To Step It Up this month, I made a little open-topped box with the same supplies used for making the card. I tried really hard not to use much of anything else except what would be used to make one of the cards in the kit, but I did need to add some adhesive. I also crinkle-cut some Calypso Coral card stock to toss into the bottom of the box. The Lindor truffles I put inside are Strawberries & Cream, for Valentine's Day, but you could use some crinkle-cut Wild Wasabi card stock for "grass" and put a couple or few Cadbury eggs in there for Easter :-) The greetings on the stickers in the kit only say 'hello' or 'thank you' (also in French, German, and Spanish), but I think that can still work with either holiday theme.

Stampin' Supplies: Pretty Pocket Card Kit (Sale-a-Bration FREE Item), Paper Snips (to cut the twine to 18"), Calypso Coral card stock, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut and score card stock), Tear & Tape Adhesive, Fringe Scissors, Paper Piercing Tool (to poke holes for the twine). {I sort of made this project on the fly, so I'll have to look at it and see if I can simplify the directions for you later.}

Click the pointing hand image below to hop to Libby's blog next, and see what fancy stepping she's got going on this month...
