Top Note Fox Box

Okay, I dare you to tell me this Top Note Fox Box is NOT one of the cutest things you've ever seen!!! This was not my original idea, though it is my own creation. A fellow demonstrator shared a picture of a similar one she had made, and I just had to rush over to my stamp desk and make one of my very own that could sit with me.

I used the Big Shot with the Top Note die, and the Scallop Oval die. I also used the 1-3/8" Square Punch, and the 3/4" Circle Punch and 1/4" Circle Punch. Oh, and I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole for the white spot to show through on the eyes. I used Whisper White and Really Rust card stock for the fox and box, and Basic Black card stock for the eyes. If you work with Scouts, you might use Basic Gray instead of Really Rust, to make a Wolf Box.

You can purchase any of these items in my ONLINE STORE, and for every $50 you purchase, you get to choose a Sale-A-Bration item for FREE!

Mailbox & Treasure Chest Pattern

I have a treat for you today...a new pattern. No time for a tutorial right now, so DOWNLOAD THE PATTERN and read through the instructions, and email me with any questions you may have.

UPDATE: I rounded the ends of the flag pole piece, and cut the number of brads/holes down to 4 instead of 6. The pattern you can download above reflects those changes.

The I {Heart} Hearts stamp set would be great to use on the mailbox for Valentine's Day, and you will be donating $2 to Haiti Disaster Relief with your purchase (see this post for more details).

The Sending Love Notes Kisses cards, and coordinating Square Glassine Envelopes, fit perfectly inside to send your valentine a personal message! Don't forget the Full Heart Punch, the Heart to Heart Punch, and the Small Heart Punch, all of which also coordinate with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

Hershey Kiss Holder

I don't often feature others' work on my blog, but I have to make an exception for this little gem! This is one of the swaps I received on Monday night, created by Angela Sylvester.

Angela had one copy of the pattern with her, and I took a photo of it so I could recreate the project at home. It's very simple, so I made some graphics to put up here on my blog, so you can make the project, too!

Start with a 6"x6" square of card stock, and score across diagonally from left top to right bottom, then right top to left bottom. Then measure in to the center (should be 3") and score from top to bottom at the center, and from left to right at the center. Your score lines should look similar to the graphic below.

Then score at 5/8" off the center line to the right corner and to the left corner. Do this at all four center lines. The graphic below shows what these offset score lines should look like. (the lighter lines are the score marks you made in the first step)

The graphic below shows all the lines you should have when scoring is complete.

Crease all 12 score lines with a bone folder. Punch a hole in each of the four corners (use the 1/8" hole punch on the Crop-a-Dile). Push in all 4 sides while bringing together the 4 corners. Thread 12" of ribbon through two holes, then punch a hole in your message banner and thread the banner onto the ribbon. Insert Hershey Kisses (3 fit in there quite comfortably, you may be able to fit more) and thread the ribbon through the remaining two holes of the square. Tie a bow and you're all done!

Design Notes: If you want to decorate your card stock, it's best to stamp on it before making your score lines. A Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel, such as Very Vintage (see the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog), makes quick work of the deed. On her sample, Angela appears to have stamped with White StazOn ink, onto Kraft card stock. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon, and the image used on the Very Vanilla card stock banner is from the stamp set With All My Heart, which coordinates wonderfully with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you can purchase to help out the folks in Haiti--see details HERE.

Haiti Disaster Relief

Click HERE to download PDF Flyer.

Help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12. From now until February 28, 2010, Stampin' Up! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate it to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

If you would like to donate without making a purchase, or in addition to making a purchase, please go to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund site.

You will notice that whether you purchase a wood mount stamp set or a clear mount stamp set, Stampin' Up! donates $2 of your purchase price.

*Why would you want to buy clear mount stamp sets? Well, you only buy the clear acrylic blocks you need one time, and then you can buy clear mount stamp sets more inexpensively than wood mounted sets! Also, clear mount stamp sets are stored in convenient DVD-sized cases, with labels on the spine showing the stamp set name, and pictures of the images in the set. And you can add multiple images to one clear block, from whatever clear mount stamp sets you want, in whatever orientation you want, to make a new "scene".

Clear mount stamps have clear mounts, but the images are the same high-quality, deep-etched rubber you've come to know and love from Stampin' Up!, which means you'll get the same crisp stamped images with a clear mount set as you would with a wood mount set. And, if you like to loan your stamps out to friends, or let your kids use them, but you really dislike getting ink stains on the wood mounts, then the clear mounted stamp sets are a great solution! Just wipe them clean, or use an eraser to remove permanent ink, such as StazOn.

For more information on clear mount block and stamp sets, please download the 2010 Occasions Mini catalog HERE, and check out pages 6-7.

Valentine Ghirardelli Treat Holders

It's been really busy around here, but I wanted to post some updated Ghirardelli Treat Holders for you! Look back at THIS POST for a tutorial, and see the supplies listed below for colors and additional accessories.

These would be super adorable if you used Kraft Tafetta Ribbon on the pink one, and Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon on the kraft one. Or, make them frilly and froo-froo by spritzing with Shimmer Mist (spray bottle 3/4 full of rubbing alchohol, plus Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint), and using Whisper White Organza Ribbon or Satin Ribbon, and some beads and half-pearls from the Pretties Kit. I used Very Vanilla Tafetta Ribbon on both of mine because that's what I had available.

You should be able to get supplies for three holders from each sheet of 8-1/2" x 11"card stock. The banner is 1/2" x 3", and the hearts can be punched from left over scraps you roll over with the wheel. If you use two complimentary colors, you'll have supplies for 6 holders--3 of one color, 3 of the other. The only extra card stock you need is the Melon Mambo for the large heart layer.

Shop for these Stampin' Supplies in my ONLINE STORE: Kraft card stock, Pretty in Pink card stock, Melon Mambo card stock and ink pad, I {Love} Love Jumbo wheel & handle, With All My Heart stamp set, Full Heart Punch, Magnetic Movers & Shapers Large Heart Die, Distressing Tool (in Cutter Kit), 1/16" Circle Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Linen Thread, Very Vanilla Tafetta Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, Horizontal Slot Punch, Word Window Punch, Bone Folder (for scoring).

It's been suggested that more people send cards for Valentine's Day than any other day of the year, including Christmas and Mother's Day. Nothing says 'I Love You' like a handmade card.

I've put together a Basic Package of products, which includes TWO FREE Sale-A-Bration items, and makes up to 80 fold over cards like the one shown below.
