Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Love

Welcome to the 18th Edition of the
Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so all prices listed are in USD)

This month the theme is LOVE!!! I have chosen to work with the FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Party Pandas, to make some valentines. There's a little twist to this, though, as I'm using supplies that were actually intended for Birthdays. I'll show you the valentines first, then tomorrow I'll show you the birthday version...using the same supplies!

These valentines were actually planned around $51.50 in supplies you can buy, to get the Party Pandas stamp set (in wood-mount or cling-mount) for FREE. You'll want to buy one each of the following: Notecards & Envelopes (20 cards with envelopes), Picture Perfect Party 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, Basic Black Archival ink pad, Basic Black marker, Watercolor Pencils, and Whisper White card stock (40 sheets). Below are 3 of the 5 patterned paper designs I thought worked well for valentines, using all 3 of the different pandas in the stamp set. But really, you could just use that same little guy holding the envelope with the heart on all of them if you wanted.

This panda image has a balloon in it, though I omitted that part. I think it looks like he's waving!

This panda image has a party on it, but I omitted that part for the valentine.

The top and bottom patterned paper is 1-1/2"x3", and the banner is 2-3/4"x3/4".

The Picture Perfect Party 6"x6" Designer Series Paper package contains 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 double-sided patterns. I felt the 5 patterns below worked best with the supplies I packaged together to get the Party Pandas stamp set for FREE. Using my pattern, you can get 4 valentines from each 6"x6" sheet, so you could use each of the sheets below to make 4 valentines, which would give you 20 valentines. But, because there are 4 of each of those designs in the package, you can actually get 80 valentines total using all the sheets of these 5 designs. However, with the initial $51.50 purchase, you'll only have supplies to make 20 valentines. Don't worry...I have a few ADD-ONS listed below the paper picture so you can get MORE FREE STUFF!

ADD-ONS FOR 80 VALENTINES: First, you'll want to buy (3) more packages of Notecards & Envelopes. In the original $51.50 purchase, I listed the Basic Black Archival ink pad, and if you buy that I would recommend you also purchase the Basic Black Archival Ink Refill. You should always buy a reinker at the same time you get your ink pad, if at all possible. The Blender Pens are an excellent partner for the Watercolor Pencils, they work great to soften and blend the colors. The Picture Perfect Party Classic Stampin' Spots, and the Picture Perfect Party Card Stock Pack will give you more coordinating colors for your projects. These Add-Ons total $52.50, so you are now ready to get another Sale-a-Bration item for FREE! I highly recommend the Epic Celebrations stamp set (in either wood-mount or cling-mount), which you can use with the remaining patterned paper to create awesome BIRTHDAY CARDS!

EPIC CELEBRATIONS FREE STAMP SET

I chose the Party Pandas stamp set for FREE in cling-mount, because I wanted to cut the stamps apart. You can see what I cut apart in the pictures below, but DO NOT cut yours unless you are totally confident about it, or don't care if you mess it up. You can get the same look with the pandas by stamping the entire image and just cutting off the parts you don't want to use, when you cut them out. You can also stamp the sentiments, cut the individual words out that you want, and adhere them to the banner where you want them. So, go ahead and get the Party Pandas for FREE in wood-mount if you prefer, as you can still easily use them for these projects! Plus, you won't have to buy or have Clear Blocks on hand if you get the wood-mount.

PARTY PANDAS FREE STAMP SET

I used (2) Clear Block C, (1) Clear Block D, and (1) Clear Block G for my trimmed stamps.

Here are the trimmed stamp pieces, still in the stamp case. I can easily put them on the block next to the other pieces to recreate the original image on one block.

You don't have much time before Valentine's Day to get these done, so Order from My Online Store NOW to get your supplies on their way! I will be popping back in over the next few days with a video to walk you through making these, along with some colorful variations on them you can choose if you order the Add-Ons for 80 Valentines I listed above!

Stampin' Supplies: Party Panda stamp set, Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes, Basic Black Archival ink, Basic Black marker (you'll want this to help fill in any little imperfections in the solid parts of the pandas), Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper, Watercolor Pencils, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, SNAIL Adhesive.

Pieces & Patterns - Step It Up Blog Hop

Welcome to the February 2018 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My projects this month are a throw back (so appropriate to Thursday) to the Stampin' Up! 2017-18 Annual Catalog, featuring the Pieces & Patterns stamp set (available in wood-mount and cling-mount).

The Pieces & Patterns stamp set coordinates with several items in the Pick A Pattern Suite, including the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper, which I used on both my cards. In fact, I used a 4" square of the same sheet on each of my cards--this first simple note card uses the patterned side.

Stampin' Supplies: Pieces & Patterns stamp set, Sahara Sand card stock, Whisper White card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut and score).

Below is my Stepped Up version of this card. Again, I used the 4" square of Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper, this time using the side with the print. I also turned the card to fold over at the top, stamped the coordinating camera image from the stamp set down the side, added a couple of Metallic Enamel Shapes accents, popped the greeting up on Stampin' Dimensionals, and tied a bow with Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine.

TIP: when you want to tie twine or ribbon around a card that doesn't have a firm layer, consider using a hole punch to take out a tiny notch at the fold of the card, through which you can thread your bow.

Stampin' Supplies: Pieces & Patterns stamp set, Sahara Sand card stock, Whisper White card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, Metallic Enamel Shapes, Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine, 1/16" Handheld Hole Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut and score).

And don't forget, you can qualify to earn FREE STAMPS (and other select items) with Sale-a-Bration when you shop my Online Store through March 31st!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Heartfelt Love Notes

This month is our TENTH #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Our kit this month is called Heartfelt Love Notes. It came with supplies to make 16 cards, 8 each of 2 designs, with a little pocket for tucking in a treat. The picture below shows how the cards would look if you made them according to the kit instructions:

As usual with my alternates, I tried to stick closely to the Paper Pumpkin kit supplies. I made a Valentine's Day Advent for my Sweetie, with a treat for each day.

I decided on a pattern that would alternate, so I could use 7 of the striped card bases, and 7 of the hearts card bases. The odd numbers are the hearts card bases, as you can see below here. {TIP: use your Embossing Buddy to dab on the back of the pink self-adhesive banner where it crosses over the diagonal, to take the sticky off of it.}

And the even numbers are the striped card bases, as you can see below here. This one has a little more ad libbing going on. I used some of the leftover edges and middles of the pink banners to make a little arrow for the heart! When you make these, you need to be a bit strategic in placing your adhesives so they don't show through the vellum, and they don't cross over the diagonal cut.

The last card falls on the 14th--Valentine's Day, so it has a striped card base, as you can see below here...but it's done in a slightly different design since it's the last day. I used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to put the number of the day at the top of each of the tags.

I forgot to put it back in for the other pictures, but I tucked a Ghirardelli Chocolate Square in the card for the last day...and there is a special love note on the back of the card, but that's for my Sweetie's Eyes Only!

You probably noticed the little Bow Paper Clips on the upper right corners of each one. Those are on the Clearance Rack right now, you get a package of 24 for ONLY $2.20 so it's an amazing add-on to an order! I used those so I could hang my advent on a line I have in my living room. The lighting is terrible, so I'll show you the first two hanging, then pop over to the other end and show you the last one.

Now that I've worked out the patterns for you, this should be SUPER easy for you to duplicate! I do have a couple more TIPS, though: 1) buy candies you don't like yourself, so you don't eat them before you are done making your project, 2) slap one mini glue dot behind the lollipop to help hold it in place--it only takes one, and 3) you can actually write notes on the back of ALL the white inserts if you want...just make sure you do it before you stick any embellishments or candy to the front.

Stampin' Supplies: January 2018 Heartfelt Love Notes Pumpkin Kit, Labeler Alphabet, Bow Paper Clips Embellishments (from the Clearance Rack), Embossing Buddy, Paper Snips (for trimming and scoring).

The Heartfelt Love Notes Refill Kit can now be purchased the on the PAST KITS page in my Online Store. There are sometimes full Kits available on that page, but many are just Refill Kits which include the consumables only...meaning everything but the stamp set & ink pad. By the way, you're gonna have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to buy whatever's available on that PAST KITS page, so go ahead and sign up HERE to get your email address in the system first!

NEWSFLASH: The July 2016 What a Gem FULL Kit, as well as the What a Gem REFILL Kit, are on sale through February 14th! Grab some and use the pink ones to create alternate Valentine's Day projects, and save the green ones for St. Patrick's Day ;-)

And don't forget, you can qualify to earn FREE STAMPS (and other select items) with Sale-a-Bration when you shop my Online Store through March 31st!

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - 2018 Sale-a-Bration & Occasions Catalog

Welcome to the 17th Edition of the
Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This month we are featuring Sale-a-Bration, and the Occasions Catalog!!! Even though they were released previously, I chose to work with the Stampin' Blends this month, because they are making their first catalog debut, in the Occasions Catalog. Prior to this they've only been available for viewing and purchase in my Online Store.

View or Download the 2018 Sale-a-Bration Brochure PDF HERE
View or Download the 2018 Occasions Catalog PDF HERE

I've also chosen to work with the Color Me Happy stamp set (available in wood-mount and cling-mount), and the Color Me Happy Project Kit, because they are NOT featured in any catalog but they are perfect for learning with the Stampin' Blends. You can even get the stamp set and project kit together for a 10% Discount in the Color Me Happy BUNDLE, which is also available in wood-mount or cling-mount. Check out the awesome video playlist I've put together HERE for you, using these products together. {Note: the Color Me Happy stamp set, Project Kit, and BUNDLE are available ONLY while supplies last, but they are still available as of this post!}

I've assembled my cards just a bit differently from the kit instructions, and cut up the printed card bases into 4" squares to use as backgrounds on standard cards that fold over to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".

I actually started with the stamping and coloring on separate pieces of 1-3/4" square Whisper White Thick Card stock, and used those as the focal points of each card.

Disclaimer: the stamp image does not have leaves...I drew those in!

As I mentioned above, the Color Me Happy stamp set is available in either wood-mount, or cling-mount. I personally tend to choose wood-mount stamps because I love that I only have to mount them ONCE, and then they are ready to go. This is a HUGE plus for me, especially when I am letting other people use my stamps, like when I hold a stamping event.

However, now that the Stamparatus has been announced (and had preorders), it's going to sort of muddy the waters for me, as that tool only works with cling-mount or photopolymer stamps. I just wanted to make sure you're aware of this upcoming product NOW, so you can make an informed decision on what style stamps you will want to get, in your purchases going forward. You can learn more about the Stamparatus HERE, but if you did not place a preorder by December 30, 2017, you'll need to wait until its debut in the new Annual Catalog in June to get your hands on it. I participated in the Leader-to-Leader group that provided ideas and feedback for this tool, so I already have mine...I'll be showing it to you in action soon!

CAUTION: Don't panic that you can't use the Stamparatus with your wood-mount stamps! I still love my Stamp-a-ma-jig for lining up images, and it is easy and inexpensive. The BONUS of using the Stamp-a-ma-jig with wood-mount stamps is that you can stamp each image on a sheet of vellum to use with the Stamp-a-ma-jig instead of using the plastic sheet and cleaning it off every time. Then you just store those vellum sheets in your stamp case, and you are ready for quick placement next time you use the set. Clear as mud? Don't worry, I'll do a follow up to explain it more clearly.

Stampin' Supplies: Color Me Happy stamp set, Color Me Happy Project Kit, Whisper White Thick Card Stock, Flirty Flamingo Card Stock and ink, Bermuda Bay Card Stock and ink, Dapper Denim Card Stock and ink, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Trimmer, SNAIL Adhesive.

Bike Ride - Step It Up Blog Hop

Happy New Year, and Welcome to the January 2018 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. I'm starting with the stepped up version this month--it's a card I used for a class at the library in November.

The good news is I finally got a new hard drive for my computer, so I can move some data over and the old drive will have room to breathe, and things won't run so slow. The bad news is that it took me freakin' forever to get the thing installed. More good news is that I got to catch up with some friends from high school on Saturday. More bad news is that it was last minute and out of town, and I only have one card done for you so far this morning!

The bad news, yet again, is that I am running behind on sleep, and that's been an easy road to my facial pain coming back...so I have to get back to bed now. BUT, the good news is that I'll be back later with another card to make things right ;-)

Stampin' Supplies: Bike Ride stamp set, Whisper White card stock, Soft Suede card stock & ink, Daffodil Delight card stock & ink, Pear Pizzazz card stock & ink pad, VersaMark ink pad (with Gold Embossing Powder & Heat Tool for greeting), Embossing Buddy, Burlap Ribbon, Stitched Shapes Framelits (used with Big Shot), Clear Wink of Stella (to highlight the center of the flowers on the focal point), Fast Fuse, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut and score).

Alrighty, here we go! The lighting for this picture is a little different, because I took it at home, but the colors are the same as on the first card. The previous picture was taken at the library...right before I gave the card away :-O This one is much simpler, and I swapped the saying for a couple of stamps from the Oh Happy Day stamp set. You can ONLY get that stamp set in the Oh Happy Day Card Kit...but the kit is a huge bargain! You get the stamp set, and a clear block that fits all the stamps, plus a mini ink pad, on top of ALL the supplies you need, to create 20 cheery cards!

Be sure to pop into my Online Store and check out the Year-End Sale going on ONLY through January 2nd, and grab the retiring 2017 Holiday Catalog products you want before they are gone for good!
